Features a classic flared bell shape with subtle horizontal linear bands cast around the sound ring. The top is crowned with a robust, integrated circular suspension loop, traditionally used to hang the bell from a wooden altar stand or ceremonial staff.
The surface is covered in a magnificent, authentic multi-layered green and earthy patina, a characteristic result of centuries spent buried in the mineral-rich, volcanic soil of East Java.Cultural.
In pre-Islamic Java, these bronze bells were vital liturgical instruments used by priests during religious ceremonies to invoke deities, accompany mantras, and ward off negative energies.
