Rare Majapahit Lead-Tin 'Kala' Protective Amulet - Java/Sumatra

An extraordinary archaeological find from Indonesia, this heavy lead-tin amulet depicts the face of Kala, the mythical guardian of time and protector against evil. Dating to the Majapahit Empire (13th–16th century), such pendants were worn to shield the wearer from misfortune. The mask features classic iconographic details, including bulging eyes and a wide, protective grin, characteristic of Javanese temple guardians.
